Howard Friedman holds a doctorate in Applied Psychology/School Psychology from New York University and a masters degree in Educational Psychology from the City College of New York. He served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Applied Psychology at NYU for more than 10 years, teaching clinical practicum courses and participating in doctoral research committees.
Howard is the school psychologist at City As School High School, in the New York City public schools. He maintains a private practice in Manhattan.
Howard was elected Vice President of the New York Center in 2008 and President of the Center at the end of 2009. He was among the founding group of the current New York Center, helping re-launch the Center in 1984. He has been a member of the Center and of the A.K.Rice Institute since that time. Howard has served on the staff of numerous A.K.Rice conferences. His current interests include looking at families from a group relations perspective.
